Melissa is a native of Dunn. She attended UNC-Chapel Hill for undergrad and returned to Dunn to obtain her MBA at Campbell Univ., where she later taught Finance, Economics and Business ethics in the business school. Melissa is a Financial Planner and CFP and runs her own practice - Godwin Wealth Strategies - in downtown Dunn. She has been in practice for 20 years and loves her career and helping others. She is a downtown Dunn property owner and contributes to growing and enhancing our town. She serves on several local Boards including Cape Fear Valley, Dunn Chamber Foundation, and The Committee of 100. She resides in Buies Creek with her daughters - Madeline, who is attending UNC Medical school, and Julia, who is attending Triton High School. They are members at First Baptist Church in Dunn and stay active in the local community they love.
