Description
The Resilience Initiative Harnett County strives to build stronger communities and enrich family connections through resilience. On June 22nd the Resilience Initiative will be hosting “Covering North Carolina’s Coverage Gap” with Care4Carolina. One large part of building resilience in local communities for families and children is the affordability and the accessibility of health coverage. Positive outcomes are directly linked to families and children who have health insurance coverage, and we know that this coverage is especially important in creating healthy and resilient families and children. Sadly, many middle class, working families fall in the “coverage gap” because they do not qualify for Medicaid, but make too little to qualify for a health insurance subsidy through the affordable care marketplace.
Care4Carolina has been working to help these families “in the gap” to find a better alternative to being uninsured. Peg O’Connell, with Care4Carolina will be presenting at the Harnett County Library and Resource Center on June 22, 2021 at 2pm. Everyone is welcome to join us in training room 103A to learn more about how this subject may impact those whom you serve or employees you may work with.
