Description
A NONPARTISAN ELECTION will be held on OCTOBER 8, 2019, in the Town of Dunn, North Carolina to elect A MAYOR AND SIX (6) COMMISSIONERS. A runoff, if necessary, will be held on November 5, 2019. Polls will be open from 6:30am until 7:30pm. Voters should go to their regular precinct to cast their ballot. Canvass will be held on October 14, 2019 at 11:00am in the Board of Elections Office in Lillington. Absentee ballots are allowed. Requests for an absentee ballot must be made in writing to the Board of Elections Office and received in the County Board of Elections office by 5:00pm on October 1, 2019. Absentee ballots must be received in the Board of Elections Office no later than 5:00pm on October 8, 2019. The Board of Elections will meet on September 17, 2019 at 5:00pm, September 24, 2019 at 5:00pm, October 1, 2019 at 5:00pm and October 8, 2019 at 5:00pm and other times as may be necessary for the purpose of approving absentee ballots. One-stop voting will be held in the Board of Elections Office beginning September 18, 2019 and ending October 4, 2019. One-stop voting hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. All residents of the Town of Dunn who are registered to vote with the Harnett County Board of Elections may vote in this election. Voters who are previously registered need not re-register for this election. Those residents of the town who are not registered to vote must register on or before September 13, 2019 to be eligible to vote in this election. However, residents of the town may register and vote at the Board of Elections during the one-stop period listed above. Any voter who has moved since the last election must notify the Board of Elections in writing by that same date. A person may register at the Board of Elections Office at 308 W. Duncan Street, Lillington, NC or by calling the Board of Elections Office at 910-893-7553 and requesting a mail-in application to register to vote
