Description
You probably know that litter can significantly affect the appearance and perception of a place, but did you know that litter can also negatively impact a community’s crime rate, property values, economic opportunities, and overall quality of life? Harnett County Government is committed to keeping Harnett County clean and making sure our citizens are afforded the best quality of life possible.
With that in mind, the Harnett County Department of Engineering and Solid Waste is launching the Keep Harnett Beautiful campaign to promote the importance of cleanliness, recycling and reusability. To kick off this effort, the County will hold a countywide cleanup event on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Following the cleanup, free re-freshments will be served to those who participate at the Harnett County Administration Building at 102 E. Front St., Lillington.
The County is looking for volunteers to participate in the cleanup event and help keep Harnett beautiful. If you are willing to volunteer individually, or with a group such as a church, civic organization or business, we need your help! In addition to opportunities to make a difference through volunteering your time and energy, there are also opportuni-ties to contribute to the Keep Harnett Beautiful campaign through sponsorship opportuni-ties at the Gold ($1,000 or more), Silver ($500) and Bronze ($200) levels. All sponsors will be recognized for their generous contributions to this important effort.
We hope we can count on you to help keep Harnett beautiful!
