CBC Worship Pastor, Darren Hughes, shares “There are so many aspects of the Easter story that can be dramatized. This year, we are focusing on the Gospel—the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, God’s Son, and what that means for all of us” The drama intertwined with songs from multiple genres of Gospel music, new and old tell the story in a fresh and vivid way the story of Jesus dying on the cross and His resurrection from the grave. This is a collaborative effort with Hughes and James Neal, the Education Pastor of Central, who writes the scripts for CBC drama productions and directs the drama along with Jason Carpenter. Neal relates, “We use this opportunity to share the true meaning of Easter and what Jesus accomplished on the cross.”
The Central Baptist Church Choir has been a mainstay in our region offering heartfelt, genuine songs from lives changed by the power of Jesus Christ. Not just a choir with a lot of people, the Central Choir shares songs from a variety of styles that reach the heart. “We’re not concerned with having a few voices with perfect pitch and elaborate orchestrations. We keep it simple allowing anyone with a heart to worship that opportunity” shares Hughes.
